Ok, confession time: I haven't really been reading your bob stuff because I get a bit weirded out by RPF and WWII RPF also gets me because of the fact that my great-uncles still tell stories about their time in France.

That said, I clicked and read this story because the author's notes really made me interested. And I'm really glad I did. You did such a good job with the Bob characters, they all felt true to what I've seen in the documentaries and books, and you did an excellent job with the tone and pacing.

dude, i am weirded out that i am actually writing this stuff, so no worries. when i write the fics it's the actors i see, but i do use some rl stuff now and then. which makes me feel skeevy but it's all gen and meant with nothing but honor and respect, so hopefully i won't go straight to hell for writing this. i also have the vague hope that i might get someone interested in bob and that would be awesome.

Wow, this is breathtaking! A really gorgeous look at Easy from the eyes of a character that we don't know terribly well. You bring him to life so vividly, I can already tell I'll be paying far more attention to him when I watch the series again (and again and again...). And I really, really love Lieb's role in this. He's one of my favorites, and the quiet, empathetic way Tipper observes how Joe interacts with the world is really poignant and lovely.

Question from a pretty ignorant newb - how much of this is based in fact? (Like were Tip, Lieb and Alley really best friends?) Are you getting some of this plot from Ambrose's book, or is it a purely fictional construction around a small character? Either way, it's fantastic, I'm just curious. ETA: Haha, wow, sorry! How about I learn to read? I somehow didn't read the disclaimer (because there usually isn't useful info in there) so I didn't catch what you said. I love that this is all from your mind and it just may become personal canon

i am a sucker for seeing easy through the eyes of lesser known characters. i'm working on a story from vest's pov right now. and it took me a few watches to catch on to just how awesome tip is.

And I really, really love Lieb's role in this. He's one of my favorites, and the quiet, empathetic way Tipper observes how Joe interacts with the world is really poignant and lovely.*beams* oh thank you. i've come to love joe so very much. and i was always so impressed with how he helped tip after he was injured. this fic is really based on 3 incidents

(i have recently fallen in love with vest - just from the last patrol and how he seems to be just a glorified clerk, but he goes on the patrol so obviously hes also PIR. i am intrigued.)

i like vest a lot. aside from the fact he doesn't realize he should NEVER EVER try to chat with speirs. ;-P

but vest and domingus were both toccoa men, they just didn't get to be on the front lines.

i'm about half done. i hope the fic doesn't dissapoint. *crosses fingers*
