so i just wasted the past 40 minutes updating my journal when the page crashed.

today was a goodish day but now i'm cranky. oh well, at least this way i can pretend my first post was all interesting and witty intead of the boring crap i'm typing now.
good things:
my mom gave me her old digital camera. it's shiny with lots of thingamabobs and doodads.
watched little miss sunshine last night which was excellent. especially the little girl and steve caroll.
i've been listening to gekizetsu's and fools shine on on my mp3 on the way to/from work and it's kicking my butt. i love it to pieces. although sadly i now feel like a misshapen cartoon character in a real world.
watched indiana jones 3 with the kid this weekend. he loved it.
i have an idea for the deathficathon challenge finally! which is good cuz i signed up for it. i wrote some of it today at work.
bad things:
i was sick most of the weekend (but finally feeling better)
my digital camera died
ex and i have started the week on/week off thing with the kid. i'm not sure how i feel about this. i though i'd go insane missing him, but spn obssession is helping loads.
i'm sort of stuck on the second chapter of my this street, that man, this life fic. after updating i'm going to try writing some more.
i want to start keeping track of books i read. i used to try it in the old handwritten journal but since that died, i'll try here. there are just the books i love so much i want to hug them.
me & emma by elizabeth flock. sad, dark and beautiful. amazing twist.
fledgling by octavia butler. interesting vampire idea that i really enjoyed.
case histories by kate atkinson. very sad with bits of humor that keep you sane.
cruddy by lynda barry. i loved 100 demons and this novel was almost painful to read. i'd love to copy the style someday.
also, i'm a huge geek and got the spike graphic novel for xmas. it was wonderful. much better than i expected. contains all 3 one shot comics and i can't wait for the angel anthology graphic novel.
honorable mentions: time traveller's wife, glass castle, incident of the dog in the nighttime (love that one), artemis fowl series, and a bunch of other books i can't remember at the moment. also, onyx & crake read by campbell scott is brilliant.
enough book blabbing for now.
thurs is finally new spn and husband is going to the gaming group and i think he wants me to come. i feel like a jerk but i'd really rather stay home and watch hunted. a conundrum.
maybe more later, maybe not.
some pics with the new camera. the kid and view from the folks' cabin.
