What are some of your favourite Buffy moments that make you think "Gosh, I just love that girl to pieces"?
A favourite of mine is in the season 2 episode "Innocence" after she finds out Angel has lost his soul. Her sense of both pain and purpose is so tangible as she wakes up from a prophetic dream, marches gravely to school and into a classroom full of students, grabs Jenny Calendar by the throat and confronts her about her knowledge of Angelus, or when she grabs a big machine gun to destroy the Judge guy, saying "That was then. This is now."
Another scene I particularly like is the one where Buffy realizes the death trap Professor Walsh set up for her, and telling her on the TV screen as Riley watches, "If you think that's enough to kill me you really don't know what a slayer is. Trust me when I say you're going to find out." She was so full of courage and triumph and you couldn't help smiling at the justice of how it all turned out.
I love nearly all of Buffy's prophetic dreams, which are usually so surreal and dreamlike. In "Surprise," Buffy dreams about walking in the Bronze and smiles as she sees Angel. They reach out towards one another, but Drusilla stabs Angel in the back, and his hand turns to dust just as it was about to link with Buffy's. I found this scene very haunting and memorable.
Another favourite dream is in S3 episode "Dead Man's Party," where Buffy dreams of walking in an empty Sunnydale High, meets Angel, and they exchange some cryptic words. A sense of loneliness and abandonment really permeated this scene.
