what a turn of events

Ok, I never thought that this day would end up where it is now. When Buffy woke me up this morning I had no idea that I would've had hot sex with Faith in the bathroom of a gas station, seen her cry, then work out with her. What a life I lead ( Read more... )

I still can't believe I cried in front of him. It's pathetic, that's what it is. Lookin' to take that out on a punchin' bag. I glance around as he leads me inside the gym. It wasn't bad. Better than what we had at the penitentiary. I slide off the sweater I had on and toss it on a nearby bench. Guess the coucil really set 'em up good. At least the council was settin' someone up.

"Sweet," I reply, lookin' around the place. I gently place a hand over the nearby weights and then curiously go to check out the machines.

"Not bad huh," I said as I pulled off my shirt and tossed it to the side and grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge. "Here," I said, tossing a bottle to her then walking to the stereo. "So, what music would you like for today's workout session...er...I mean..."

Great job at playing it cool. I am so fired.

"Anything with a beat to it," I reply, tryin' to ignore his words. The boy's got it bad.

I move over to the punching bag and grab the tape nearby to tape up my knuckles from injuring them. It makes a rip sound and I take in a deep breath, readying to take it out on the bag.

Hmmm, anything with a beat. We have damn near everything here. Scanning through the cd rack I pull out one of my collection. Good cd for sure. Franz Ferdinand, upbeat and good to hit stuff too. I stick it in the stereo and hit play.

"It's got a beat. Happens to be a work out fave of mine," I say turning to her and stretching my back, bending my arm behind my neck and stretching up high, grabbing the pull up bar.

I quirked a smile towards him. Nothin' like Rob Zombie beat, but still... he had a point about it being upbeat.

"Never figured you'd be one to listen to Franz Ferdinand," I said honestly, turning towards him. He had no shirt on and normally I'd be one for the gracious half nudity, but after what we'd been through I could say I'd seen enough of him for one day. Even if Xander was lookin'... real good. I gave him a quick once-over with my eyes. "Thought you'd like... country more, or somethin'."

I flex my right hand once before starting in on the punching bag casually.

A sly smirk crossed my face when I briefly saw Faith look me over, oh yeah, I know I'm hot. I scoffed at her when she thought I'd like country.

I spoke between pull-ups. "Country? Come on Faith, I practically lived at the Bronze. Wouldn't be caught dead listening to the hokey crap." I chuckled softly, counting out my reps in my head.

"And here I seem to remember B tellin' me that you liked it. The music of pain," I quoted what I'd heard years ago in Sunny D.

I can see that smirk on his face and I just roll my eyes and concentrate on hiting the crap out of the punching bag.

I roll my eye at her comment. "Yeah well, Buffy doesn't know everything." Pulling up once more, I curled my body and tucked my legs up on the bar, hanging by my knees now, I start my crunches.

"Besides...it's good to be well rounded," I commented. Ok, so maybe once upon a time I had liked country music, but that was just a phase, a phase I don't really tell many about.

I smiled to myself at his eye-roll. I knew he couldn't pinpoint me like I could for him. Still the mystery.

I let out a deep breath and lifted a leg to kick the punching bag. "You got that right."

17, 18, 19, 20. Finishing my final rep, I flipped down, and stretched again. That one always makes me ache. "So..." I started as I walked to the weight bench and began to put the weights on the bar.

"...how was your talk with Buffy?" I asked idly, wondering how much she told her. For some reason, I have a feeling that my secret has been revealed.

I held the punching back close to me, to stop it from wacking into him, and wiped off a bead of sweat from my forehead.

"Fine, why?" I asked. Was he gonna give me a lecture now?
