I turn around surprised. I hadn't heard footsteps.

"Um, I know a few places," I offered with a small smile. "I'm pretty new here. What place were you looking for?" If I could help, that'd be nice. But I was doubtful that I could.

Shoving my hands in my pockets, I threw on my charm. "Well...I'm looking for the library, I have a paper to do for school and I get so damn lost in this place."

God I love lying.

"You think you can point me in the right direction?"

I brightened. Libraries. I could so do libraries.

"Actually, we're not that far from it." I commented, smiling to him. "You just follow this path and then it's pretty much two blocks away."

I looked down the path, then I looked back at her. My eyes ran over her some. Lil redhead has some good taste.

"You think uh...you think you can show me? I'm a knucklehead about directions." Ew, shudder at the lame guy talk. "Plus...who wouldn't wanna be seen walking with such a...beautiful young lady such as yourself," I smiled as my eyes ran over her again.

I really should go home, but the Library was on the way. For some reason I was getting an odd feeling about him.

"Thanks," I said softly. "No problem... I'll show you the way."

It took all that I had in me to not smirk triumphantly. What a foolish child. by the end of this night, she will regret being so blind.

"Thank you," I said softly as we started to walk. "My name's Tobias, you can call me Toby. So what's a pretty girl like you, doing walking around late at night all alone?"

"Just walking home from a friend's house." I said, "And... my name's Savannah."

I wasn't alone, I thought. I had spirits with me. Protecting me. I was never alone. Not even when I had not any friends.

"Savannah, that's a beautiful name." Looking down, I kicked at a rock on the ground. "Been here for...quite a while. Just don't get out much."

Understatement of the year. Boss has been keeping me cooped up in that damn underground lair of his. Totally sucks. "So...you uh...got a boyfriend?" I asked with a sly smile.

Apparently everything about me right now was beautiful - including my name. I was shivering at the way he made me feel and walked a little faster. Only so much father to the library. I could see the end of the park path already.

Time to act, I need her to stay in the dark, the seclusion of the park is perfect. Can't risk being seen. Taking my hands out of my pockets, I move in front of her, my hand grabbing her shoulder.

"Hey, why the rush, can't we just...ya know, talk?" I asked, smoothly, I could sense she was getting freaked...and it was wonderful.

I was stunned at his touch. It was cold and I could feel goosebumps running down my arms. My eyes widened.

"Tobias... I really need to get home. My parents are waiting. I'm sorry... but I really need to go." I said moving away from his touch, going to move past him.

This nice guy act is starting to wear thin. "Aww come on Sav, stay a while." With a smirk, I see four of my guys come out of the shadows, blocking her path.

"I just wanna be your friend. I mean...you're lil girlfriend won't mind, I'll give you back." A devilish grin found its way to my face, and my eyes glittered with mischief.

"How do you know about Casey?" I asked demandingly. How did he know about me? He knew about me and Casey and now he was going to what?

My breath sped as I noticed other guys come out of the bushes.

This was set up.
This was planned.

"What do you want from me?" I asked. "I mean... I have money... if you guys are looking for... money."

"Ahh, so that's her name," I said with a smirk. "Thank you for that." Chuckling, I just sighed amusedly. "I know about Casey because it is my job to know about her. As a matter of fact, my boss happens to like her a great deal, but seeing as we can't get to her ourselves, I figure that we would send her a message."

My hand reach out and I tucked a few hairs behind her ear. "You are just the perfect way to pass a message." My guys circle us predatorily.

"It was just my luck though, that you're so pretty and..." my tongue darted out to lick my lips unconciously. "...so apetizing."

I pull away quickly from his touch. Apatizing. That wasn't me. I wasn't going to be any treat for these guys. And neither was Casey.

I try to push my way past the guys, but they're incredibly strong. I elbowed one in the chest who let out a space. I'd run. I'd scream. I'd be safe.

I tripped past the staggering big guy and neary trip onto my knees before running as fast as I can.

"Help!" I scream as loud as I can. Hell, I can wake the whole neighborhood. "Someone, please, help!"

The end of the park is in view.

"I love it when they scream," I say to myself, frowning at how easily she pushed past my underlings. Failures, all of them.

Throwing on my game face, I run after her, grabbing her arm tightly, then throwing my other hand over her mouth, pulling her back out of the light of the street lamp.

"Now that wasn't very nice, was it? The more you run, the more frightened you get, the more fun it is for me."
