inthenow: Graduation, friends forever.

Dawnie's a high school graduate. Law says she doesn't have to spend another day inside a classroom ever again. She's done, if she wants to be. But she's looking foward to hopefully going to UCLA this fall. Thank god she wants to go to college. Or else I'd have to put my foot down and make her... or something. Ack, I sound like mom don't I? Speaking of which, I wish she was here to witness this momentous occasion. She would've been real proud.

I'm not gonna get into the weapyness of the fact that my baby sister's getting all growed up. Don't wanna go there again. I had enough tears in my eyes for a long, LONG time. You should've seen me at the ceremony... *sigh* But I really am very happy for her. She's growing up. Must let go eventually. And I'm glad to say everything went smoothly. Normal for the most part, minus a few incredibly longwinded, boring speakers. I sat there, in the hot auditorium of the school, reminiscing my own graduation, where people died. There was fire. Vampires. And a giant snake. Things got ugly. But we pulled through, my friends and me. I was real proud of us. Oy, but that was ages ago. Before Sunnydale went all poofy. And that was back when Faith had just entered comaville. And look where she is now - all with the consciousness... and she's dating my guy! That bitch.

Anyway, getting back to the present... guess what I am giving to the big graduate? A round trip ticket to the mother country. Yup. All expenses paid. I talked to Giles about it, and we set it up that she will stay on his estate while she's there. I won't be going with her and neither will he. This'll be a great experience for her and maybe even a lesson in responsibility and independence. However, she won't be completely alone. She'll be with Giles' staff, of course. There will be Rutherford, the butler and Mrs. Kirkland, the cook. The trip's 2 weeks long. It'll be a nice long vacation. She'll leave on July 1st and come home on the 8th.

I can't wait to give her the tickets. Actually, I think I'm gonna go find her right now. Hope she likes.
