Why in the hell was I not informed about Sally Hansen's nail polish paint pens sooner? Seriously. I need to know who dropped the ball here, because that person's head needs to be stuffed and mounted on my trophy wall.
I'd noticed the Nicole by OPI paint pens a coupla weeks ago, and added them to my mental "Things to Try One of These Days" list; so tonight, when Moon and I made an emergency pork-products-and-tortilla-chips run to SuperWallyWorld, I figured it couldn't really hurt to test-drive 'em and see what happened. The Nicole line had a few nice colors, but the Sally Hansen line was right next to it and cheaper and had a Crimson shade (which is my usual default setting these days), so I nabbed that one.
And OMG it is awesome. I really only ever paint my toenails (and I do it myself because I cannot stand having strangers interact with my feet--it's seriously a great way to get kicked in the face), and the problem there is that, if you hadn't heard yet, I'm not exactly a lithe and nimble swan. Any position that enables me to reach my toenails tends to look like some bizarre redfaced fatchick pseudoyoga...and when you add the delight of balancing an open bottle of paint to that, it can get a little tense around here.
But no more! With these pen thingies, the paint is inside the pen--you just click 'em like a ballpoint and the paint flows down into the brush end, and you go...and when you need more paint, you just click again. It dries really quickly, which is just bonus at this point, and while the fatchick pseudoyoga is still involved, there's a little less of the feeling that any second now I'm going to get to learn how to get nail polish out of the sofa or the carpet or the cat.
So if you haven't heard about these things already, I'm telling you now: the nail polish paint pens are an absolute godsend, and I will personally be purchasing every single shade that I think might even look tolerable on me.
And if you had heard about them and just didn't tell me, there's room on my trophy wall for you too. :)
