"when you're in the mood for good food, come to mo's..."

So this weekend was basically rad. Brandon and I BOTH had the entire weekend off, by some miraculous event which I'm sure was the hand of God or something. I managed to even get Sunday off from my responsibilites at the church, so we had the WHOLE weekend off!! :) So, we took advantage of the weekend and headed to the coast. We took off for Newport on Friday evening after we got off work and didn't come back til yesterday evening. We got a nice place to stay in Newport, and just had a really great weekend!!! :)

We did all the fun stuff in Newport of course. Went to the Hatfield Marine Science Center, where we touched all the stuff in the tidepools and hung out with the awesome octopus. She was putting on quite a show for everyone and trying to climb out of her tank and squirting the person with water and stuff. So that was fun.

Then we went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, which if you know me is not my idea of a super fun place to go typically, as I'm scared to death of fish and aquariums. But I sucked it up and decided to go. Well I'm glad I did, cuz it was awesome!! There's totally enough other rad stuff to make up for the icky fish parts! LOL The otters were SOOOOO great - I totally fell in love with them! :) And the jellyfish were cool - and I was brave and walked through the fish and shark tunnels, although I almost had a panic attack!

We had dinner at Mo's of course - Mo's original. I don't eat clam chowder, but that's ok - I had chili, which is what I always always get at Mo's. We walked around the bayfront area for a little while and then hung out at the hotel watching the AKC Eukenuba National Championship Dog Show - and good stuff like that.

Sunday we checked out of the hotel, had brunch, went to Ripley's Believe It or Not, walked around some more on the bayfront and saw some awesome sea lions. Then headed south on 101. We stopped at Sea Lion Caves, but didn't go in. Then we walked around Old Town Florence for a little while and then headed back to Eugene. Got back here in time to eat some dinner and watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. It was a GREAT weekend! Be sure to check out my pictures....
