I'm not actually always sick

Feb 26, 2010 00:51

Earlier today I was so stuffed up that I could only taste the 4 basic tastes provided by taste buds. Foods have been simplified down to just salty, sweet, sour and bitter. After a shower and some decongestant I managed to taste for awhile, but I think that has worn off again.

I'm curious, how little taste do I have left?
On the dorm food table there are lots of cupcakes because some of the people running for hall council whatevers had a cupcake and information session. The leftovers went on the table to encourage votes.

In front of me I have two cupcakes, one chocolate and one vanilla. Will I be able to tell them apart? Shortly I will close my eyes and shuffle the cupcakes around until I do not know which is which. Then I will pick one up and take a bite. Will I know?

Let's find out. YAY! I'm not dying. I could tell it was the vanilla cupcake. Basically I'm all better now; that's what this means. Well that and my throat isn't in constant pain anymore.

Thank you readers for indulging my experiment.

In more update worthy news: Not only did the team I was on win trivia this week, but we had a perfect score. I also felt that I contributed more than I have in recent weeks. Maybe when it's the only thing I do all day that gives me an edge. I lost it when my decongestant started to wear off though. Then I just became clumsy and light-headed. I also have to remember that when an answer comes immediately to mind without being sure why I know it, that usually means I really know it.

Also, I lied. I'm sick all the time. I do nothing but be sick. It is both an interest and a hobby. I even managed to have a mysteriously pus-filled swollen finger this week. Taking stomach medicine and having basic upper respiratory problems just wasn't dramatic enough for me. I'm gonna go sleep and hopefully not wake up for hours. Then I can wake up and taste a chocolate cupcake.
