Tuesday: Fun facts
FUN FACT #1: McDonald's is better than Burger King. This is not because their food is better (it's not). It's not because their staff are nicer and friendlier (they aren't). It's because of the cups. Let me explain. On two occasions, I've eaten at Burger King and brought the drink back to the car. On two occasions, I have been lazy and not thrown the drink into the nearest public garbage can. On two occasions, I have left the drink in the cup holder overnight. On two occasions, I have returned to the car the next day to find an empty cup sitting in caramel goo. On ONE occasion, I mistakenly left a McDonald's drink in the car, and upon entering the car the next morning with a deep sense of dread in my soul, I have come across, on one occasion, that being this morning, a McDonald's cup about 1/3 full of very flat cola. A choir of angels sang out. Then I remembered that the sky was grey and it was kinda cold outside, and that I was actually heading to work, but I will always have the moment.
FUN FACT #2: There is an untouched cinnamon bun on my desk. Every day, when I buy coffee, I also buy a cinnamon bun (or something else if they're out) whether I've eaten breakfast or not. Clearly, this is because I am utterly stupid.
FUN FACT #3: I just stapled one sheet. To itself. Yup, that sheet won't be falling apart from itself anytime soon. I believe that FUN FACTS #2 and #3 are correlated, the connection being that they are both caused by the same thing.
FUN FACT #4: People suck. Last night I went to my regularly scheduled tutoring session, and the mom greeted me at the door and said the kid was sick. She had contacted our head office to tell them because she didn't have my cell phone number, but they only said they need 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. The office then proceeded NOT to call me. So I showed up on time (5 minutes early, actually) and the mom had to explain it to me too. I felt bad for her because she had done her best to contact me. I gave her my cell phone number for next time and I'm going to have words with the office.
Let's review.
