Well thankfully that is over with now.
Birth is not so scary.
Back story: I didn't pee myself - my water really did break. Called the doc and went in around 7:15. Started to have contractions - and they did hurt - but were short and manageable.
Baby was still breech, so first we had a c scheduled for noonish, then they could fit him in around 9:30, then the viacord blood tests were taking too long so we bumped it up to 11.
I had to walk myself into the OR - and I was pretty scared about the spinal block and the fact that it might not work. But everything went really well. Matt was a champ in the room and didn't freak out at all.
The morphine helped a LOT with the pain the first few hours - but the incision still is sore. I downgraded myself to percoset - cuz - and tried to do a walk around the birth center this morning since it's supposed to help you heal faster. That hurt a LOT.
Oh well, incisions will do that.
They pulled the cath this am and I made good urine (woot). Sooo I might be able to eat more than jello today. I'm thinking pizza! They are not.
On to the baby: Mr. Andy. He has a fine set of lungs on him when he wants to cry (which is often) and he doesn't like eating. I've tried a couple times and he's barely latched on. But he gets enough to make fantastic poops! Thankfully others are currently changing him, so I just get to see them.
Pediatrician will be here later today so we'll see if he's good to go with sight/hearing etc then. He seems ok, but what the hell do I know?
Looks like a handsome kid, still seems v. surreal that I made him (with help).
Hope I get more sleep in the coming days - this could be rough peoples.
Totally worth it, though.
