So in the olden days they used to ship manure because they didn’t have fertilizer back then. So they’d pile all this dried poop onto a ship and ship it off to certain places. Well those old boats usually had slight leaks and all the manure would get moist again. Usually somebody would have to go down and check on the cargo…. Of course it is dark down in cargo holds of those old ships so they would have to light a lantern to see, but when they did… BOOM.. it would blow up the ship because of all the methane gas being release from the moist manure. It took a couple of ships for someone to realize that it wasn’t quite safe to ship manure in the bottom of a boat so they would stamp, “Ship High In Transit” on all the boxes… ergo SHIT.
