statichowl once told me about a forum get-together she once went to, where all these lurkers turned up and actually lurked in real life too. They just kind of sat there listening to the conversation all night.

In absolute honesty: I originally wrote it "delurk" but changed it to "de-lurk" precisely so no one would ask that. :)
