You're further along than I am. I haven't really even petitioned for group recognition or mentioned it to anyone. I don't feel like it's an opportune time for me to complete it. Maybe I was off in my pursuit of a vision?
yeah i understand. like, by the time i actually get it started to be able to do anything, ill be graduating and ill ahve to either stay here - whichi wasnt panning to do - or essentially start all over wherever i go.
i found that once i got up the guts to tell people i was doing it, that became somewhat of a driving force, because once people know, they expect you to do it and you cant back down anymore.
I think you can definitely start it wherever you plan to go, and I'd encourage you to do so. I'd either have to wait until after I graduated law school or do it when I start law school, and both of those would be very hard to do. Your vision is a very great one, and it needs to happen. More people would be willing to come to a concert that benefits something if decent bands are there than they would be to come to a meeting to rally around the cause of nondiscrimination. Keep up the good work!
Have you ever been to the Crawfish Boil here in Birmingham? It's for the eye treatment center, and it's really cool. They just cook a lot of food and have some good bands, and all the proceeds go to the eye center.
