'been down so god damn long, that it looks like up to me'
been brought to my attention *ahem* that i REALLY havent posted anything here in fuckin ages, been trying to keep up with all my friends and damn... there aint enough hours in the day!!
especially when i have been working 14 hour days!
things round here have been good... hitting the 2 month mark of being in my own place after a year living back with the folks, and even my little basement apartment is starting to feel like "home" its a very nice feeling, been working tons the past couple months, and its been really good, come home tired, (mostly) get a good sound sleep and back to the grind in the early morning, been working as a handi-man at a retirement home just outside of town, so its about a 45-1 hour bus trip each way which has actually been pleasent, getting some reading done listening to the old discman, even getting some writing done ta boot!
the retirement home has been great, my boss has taken me out for dinner and beer a few times now, he is a wonderfully humourous 40 something gay male, suffice to say he hits on me... often LOL shall i add him to my "harem"? *smirks and laughs* the old folks are pretty damn nice, and i have gotten to know a few pretty well, there is an old women there who ACTUALLY is a Countess, which i find pretty cool, she is a sweet heart, and i have gotten a good handful of "war" stories which i fine amazingly interesting... what a life that generation lead, i missed a LOT i guess not having grandparents in my life, was lammenting that to anotherolder lady at the home and she said she'd be my 'adopted' grandma, SO sweet
the job itself has been pretty amazing too, you would think sanding painting repairing gardening and like like around this beautiful old Victorian home would be all that great but there is an amazing satisfaction to work long and hard with your hands, making something beautiful and lasting, i guess i really have an affinity for it, my boss has constently complimented me on my work which, i admit, is really nice to hear.
Happy Solstice to every one as well, hopefully this will be another glorious summer filled with some amazing memories, been lucky and had some great memories already locked away already this spring. i have a pile of travel plans for the summer mapped out, hopefully some camping as well as ALL last summer i didnt camp at ALL... we are finally starting to get soem summer weather here to after a rather cold June.
im also heading out to BC (British Columbia) July 6-12th for my adopted/psuedo older sister Emily's wedding, im SO excited, not only for the wedding, but i have also NEVER been out west, i have globe trotted far afield but i have seen SO little of my own country... i ALSO get to see my brother who has been up in Alaska working for The Alaska Channel filming stuff since late April, and i miss the fucker dearly, he told me where the wedding is taking place (about 2 hours north of Vancouver) that they have some of the BEST bouldering climbing around so he is going to take me and teach me how to climb... sweet deal i say!
just got home from work at the sammich shack and grabbed my pipe and some of the REALLY nice pipe tabacco i got a lil while ago, its a double fermented and aged Black Cavendish, and smoked a bit and enjoyed the starting of an amazing thunderstorm, just those big heavy warm drops that start to fall, with the heavy humid air as you listen to the thunder start to roll in, meminded me of this

so now its off to shower my stinking self and relax for the evening, before i wake up and start this all over again... miss you guys and hope every one is well, and dont worry i AM still alive!
