It seems that I have a tendency to seriously underestimate the emotional undercurrents that I can unknowingly induce in other people.
This was made harshly apparent to me in one of the more awkward ways - discovering that I'm blocked on Facebook by someone who I really care about.
I realize that Facebook is hardly a credible medium with which to assess the health of my relationships with people. But it brought back a whole wave of guilt over how I handled our relationship through some of its more challenging times. And it really makes me hate that I didn't stand more firmly with him during a time when he needed someone to be there for him.
