Random Things That I've Enjoyed Reading Lately.
1. “‘We Have Always Fought’: Challenging the ‘Women, Cattle and Slaves’ Narrative”. Mmm, Monstrous Regiment.
2. The frozen calm of normalcy bias. I find it oddly comforting that so many people are as terrible at coping as I am, even if the things we can't cope with are fairly different. (Though I think their airplane example is dicey; shock would have to have been a contributing factor. The situations that are unlikely to cause psychological shock are much better examples, but their plane example had imagery, which as we all know is more important than accuracy.)
