So shortly before I left for California I wrote letters to five prison inmates. On Tuesday I got their first responses! =] It's unbelievable how excited i got lol. That's why i didn't post until Wednesday, I was busy writing them back. I wanted them to get my responses as soon as possible so i can get theirs asap. I keep glancing at the mailbox at work to see if the mail truck will be there lol. it's a little ridiculous. But let me tell you a little about each of them. =]
Justin is an inmate in Ohio. I read his letter and i didn't want to read anyone elses. I just wanted to respond to him asap cause I can't wait to read his reply! He's just like me. I mean in the way he thinks about life. He's just so down to Earth and really focuses on the positive. Plus he has the same sense of humor that I do so that is always a plus. He's just a fun loving kind of guy. I think/hope we're gonna become really good friends. He's really inquisitive too. Like he genuinely wants to know what makes me tick you know? =] He's my favorite (don't tell the others =P).
Next is Joshua. He's a surfer boy from North Carolina. He likes to have adventure and just have fun with life, I respect that a lot. Also when he talks about the beach, you can just feel the longing in his words. He's such a passionate soul. He explained to me that he does come from money but his parents never just gave him anything. he always had to work for what he wanted. I understand that cause I come from a family that didn't have a lot of money and even if we did I don't think my dad would have raised me any differently. I work for what I want. he told me that before he got my letter he was really depressed and I made him smile. That makes me feel so wonderful. I feel like I have finally done something for someone that really counts as a good dead ya know? And it's not hard to do. I firmly believe that I'm going to get as much out of this friendship as him. He seems like a wonderful person and I am so excited to get to know him!
Then comes Dan. He's in Nevada. He draws little arrows and smiley faces and checks things. It's adorable. =] His thoughts are extremely random. I appreciate that cause so are mine. Makes me feel like less of an annoyance. he wrote me five pages in response to a 1 page letter. Oh yeah this is gonna be great! =]
Joel is in Pennsylvania. He's an amazing artist. He drew me a picture taht is gorgeous. =] I can see that there's so much beauty inside of him. He puts exclamation points instead of periods but doesn't know why lol. He's very real. I didn't ask any of my inmates what they did to get in and he just said it anyway. He's very open. Doesn't hide anything. I like that quality a lot.
Last but definately not least is Joey. Joey's in pennsylvanis too but he's not in the same prison as Joel. He's incredibly honest. He admits that he's a horn dog and doesn't hide anything. I had to tell him I'm not saddling up for any conjegale visits or anything but he's pretty chill i think he'll be okay with that. He is also a self-proclaimed history-buff. yeah i think we're gonna get along just fine =]
So those are my boys. I'll probably make a post or at least mention it in my post whenever I get a letter back from one of them. I'm so excited! =] I can't wait to hear back from them. =] If you guys have any questions feel free to ask I'd be happy to answer.
