long time no type.

any more it takes a lot to move me to type. i'm usually too busy to do so. not today.

went to new york city for the day for bobby's birthday yesterday. it was excellent.

i walked around thinking about actually living and being there and at first i was unsure. then a couple things happened that made me say, ok, i'll be fine here.

we took a water taxi tour around one of the bays, seeing many landmarks in manhattan and the statue of liberty.

i stood on the top deck, next to the railing. we pulled out of the pier and not two minutes into the tour while we were facing the skyline of manhattan, a french woman standing next to me turned to her boyfriend and said, "c'est magnificant, non?"

for some reason, this made me smile a lot. it made me feel warm and assured that that was where i want to be.

i never even knew pier 17 existed. it was so cool to be there. the scene is a good one. i could spend all day hanging out. the statue of liberty is incredible and so humbling. we also took a carriage ride through central park, which was great. we saw the towers where ghostbusters was filmed and the building where lennon was shot. we also saw the plaza hotel (think home alone). the park is huge and beautiful. our carriage driver was irish; literally straight out of ireland. he was such a doll.

two people willingly helped us find our way without our even having to ask. it was so nice. at the end of the day some guy did the same thing, but then asked for a tip. whatever.

my new york trip was certainly a good one.
