So last evening, because it was rainy and messy outside, I fed the kittens inside. Just inside the back door. Three showed up; Rudy has been around only sporadically. I'm not sure why.

I'm sure we're doing them something of a diservice by feeding them. I'm sure they should be learning to hunt on their own, and I'm pretty sure they are. They'll still eat bugs and whatnot, I guess I just worry about them overall. So they're fed, but I don't get upset if the weather is too nasty to feed them canned food (yes, they're getting 1/4 can each, and my word do they love it). But when it's feeding time they're all (usually all) hanging out and waiting for us, and Deuce will even whine at us.

She's actually become the boldest of the kittens. She's not the first to come inside but she's the one that hangs around us the closest when we're feeding them, and we've been able to pet her pretty consistently. I was actually able to move her off of a plate and on to another one last night so one of the other kits could eat, and while she was obviously unhappy about it (she growled) she didn't attack me or bolt, so that's a good sign. The only time we can really touch her is when she's eating, though, but that's still progress and much credit goes to Sarah for that.

It would be very responsible for us to catch them and have them fixed. It would also probably be more money than we can swing, even though I think it's only $40-$60 per cat.. there are four of them, and three are girls. While Sarah was working full-time it was at least plausible, now not so much. So if anyone knows where I can get that done for free in the ATL, I'd appreciate hearing about it. They are catchable, and this is a good time in their lives to get that done.

We're pretty sure Mama Kitty had another litter. Sigh.
