Teeth Marks Pt 1: At the Table

It was their first day back from the break, and Chris was bored. His part was honestly compelling, but he just couldn't bring himself to care about it. Zach was being no help; Chris was pretty sure that wasn't water in that bottle he was drinking out of. 'Oh God, it's going to be that interview all over again,' he thought, turning away from his friend and looking across the table to see what everyone else was doing. Simon and Zoe were playing some sort of puzzle game on a scratch piece of paper, which looked fun but from what he could see, didn't lend itself to more than 2 players. John and Anton were talking about some trip to the mountains that he'd missed out on because he was in New Zealand, helping Karl move.
Karl himself was staring at his script as if it held all the answers to the universe. Since he had nothing else to do until J.J. came in and yelled at them to get to work, he settled in for a 'Let's Stare at Karl's Nose' session, something that had started during the table read for the first movie, and he'd never had the willpower to stop. The end of it was tilted ever-so-slightly to the left, and the tiny little bump on the bridge was so endearing...
"OUCH! What the hell, Chris?" Karl was holding his nose and Chris realized that he was stretched across the table, in Karl's face. He scrambled back into his seat, blushing as everyone in the room stopped what they were doing to stare. "Did you just bite my nose?"
"Um..." Chris couldn't come up with anything to say; since he hadn't meant to do anything but stare, the bite thing was a surprise to him, too. But maybe his subconscious had gotten bored, too? "I didn't mean to?"
"Why would you do that?" Karl didn't look mad, just confused, so Chris slouched a bit and tried to come up with something other than 'it's just so bitable.'
"He's got a thing for noses," Zach said from next to him, and in retaliation he grabbed Zach's water bottle and sniffed it. Huh. It was raspberry water, something he'd turned him onto months before. So he couldn't blame Zach's comment on the alcohol... Damn.
"I do not!" he denied after handing the bottle back, fully aware that the rest of the main cast was staring at him like he was going to spontaneously combust in front of them. Which, with the level of embarrassment he was feeling, could be a distinct possibility.
"Do, too," Zach said, taking a sip of the water and going back to staring at the table, drawing imaginary shapes with his fingers. Chris avoided looking at Karl, and was immensely grateful that J.J. walked in at that moment and he had a reprieve. He made a note to send the director 4 dozen roses in thanks, and concentrated on his work. Hopefully it would blow over.

He was doing it again. Karl was just standing there, obviously going over his lines before the scene, and Chris was doing it again. Fantasizing about his nose. Zach whacked him on the back of the head as he passed, raising an eyebrow and looking between Karl and him.
"Shut up," he hissed and tried to go back to getting dressed in the uniform for this scene, which for some reason had him in a ripped tunic and strange shit on besides. He never thought he'd follow Shatner's legacy so closely, and only hoped his chest looked as good as Bill's had in the 60s.
"...Chris! You did it again!" Karl was once again holding his nose, and Chris realized he'd been staring again.
"Dammit!" he cursed, yanking the costume on and fleeing the room. This was just not his month. He hoped it would get better. It didn't.
He ended up biting Karl again before the week was out.

Chris is going to the special hell; he just knows it. They're shooting a scene in MedBay, one of those super-serious ones where they really aren't supposed to talk, and all he can think of is Karl's nose, even as the whirry tricorder thing buzzes in his ear. He keeps his expression with a great effort, because this scene is NOT making it onto the blooper reel, damn it! It's a stretch but he manages it, and escapes to the food table for a large bottle of water, and the safety of avoiding Karl and that nose.
However, the next one they work on is a bridge scene, and he can't help it... Halfway through the take, he lunges over the console he's behind and just...
"OW! Seriously, Chris, you have GOT to stop doing that!" Karl says, and Chris is mortified, flushing a dull red since everyone is staring at him, and Zach and Zoe are laughing at him. Anton might be, or that might just be him laughing at Karl. He tries to back out of everything, but then Karl takes his hand away from his nose and they keep shooting, as if nothing happened.
But it has, because he notices Karl following him at the end of the day.
