Dear Journal,
I was just thinking to myself that I would have liked to have gone to university in a big city. Anything from University of Toronto to Univesity of Illinois at Chicago, Vanderbilt University to Georgia State University.
And then I realized...I wouldn't have gotten anything done if I lived in a big city during university. I would have been so distracted with everything else...my grades would be terrible, my student leadership would be non-existant, and let's be honest if I had come out while living in a big city? I'd probably have dropped out of school to concentrate completely on superficial gay male crap.
Alright not the last one, but think of all the temptations a city has, especially for developing minds (i.e. the changes that take place after coming out).
Going to MSU has been one of the most rewarding and most beneficial decisions I have ever made. Granted it's surrounded by farms on all sides but the result of not having unlimited access to the resources of a city is that I actually get school work and extra-curricular work done.
Hahaha - I guess I just realized how much I really do value my MSU experience, even if I did realize it in a backwards sort of way.
