I think it's going to happen...
While Eric was gone on his fishing trip, he received an offer for an internship. He got back yesterday and talked with his dissertation advisor and another faculty member. They seemed to really think this internship would help him in what he wants to do long-term. I'm really proud of him for getting this internship.
But it's three and a half months, and it's in D.C. He has to be there in a month or so.
I keep telling myself that at least he's not going to a country 3000 miles away, but that doesn't make it any easier. I can't see how we'll be able to afford me visiting him, and his internship dates are non-negotiable/flexible. We've done this before. Hell, we've done this 2x before, but it doesn't get any easier. This will be the longest we've been apart in almost 10 years.
