So yesterday I was in a rush to get to my Econ 641 midterm. I decided to drive because I had to be at the Schott for the OSU/Michigan basketball game by 6 PM and my class ended at 5:18. I parked in the Tuttle Parking garage, and as I was walking to my class, realized that I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY TO PAY TO GET OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE WITH.
I called Steven and told him, but there was nothing I could do about it because my midterm was starting in 5 minutes. After class, I called him and was going to ask him to go on the computer and check the Transportation and Parking webpage to see if they accepted Buck-ID money (our student ID cards work like debit cards at some places on/near campus).
But he couldn't, because he was nowhere near the computer. Instead, on his own initiative, he had walked in the snow and -15 degree windchills all the way down High Street to Woodruff and all the way down Woodruff to Tuttle to bring me money to get out of the garage. We're talking a walk of 2-3 miles. Mind you, he isn't even familiar with getting around campus and had to print out maps from Mapquest to figure out how to get there!
Unfortunately, he still has no work. Securitas still has 'no place' to put him and we haven't heard anything back from Allied-Barton. Hopefully I find out soon if I'm staying here so he can get signed up for the police academy test...I can't afford to support both of us.
