Day 1

Jan 19, 2007 17:04

Steven FINALLY got "orientated" and started work today. He is working security at Columbus Steel, and he has the 8A-4P shift. It works out perfectly for us, because then we can still have dinner and evenings together. He seemed to like it okay. It's obviously not the greatest job in the world, but we NEED that paycheck. Plus, it's easier to get a job when you have a job. So that's really good news for us.

I got two nasty paper cuts at work today -- one on the thumb and one on the pinky of my left hand. I also took a typing speed test online and got 93 WPM.

I saw an article on ESPN.com today about the House passing a resolution to congratulate Florida on winning the National Championship and being the first school to hold both the basketball and football National Championships at the same time. The article also mentioned a resolution to congratulate Boise State. Apparently Congress does things like this all the time. It's not just because I'm pissed that we lost to Florida, but seriously... doesn't Congress have ANYTHING better to do? I mean, we're at war, we hear about how Social Security and Medicare are going bankrupt, and our lawmakers are passing resolutions to congratulate schools on winning football games. I think that's ridiculous.

The apartment is a mess. Tonight is cleaning night. There's so much to be done this weekend. Oy.
