moving mountains

The visit to Nana and Papa's was very tough.  Papa doesn't have much time left and it was hard to witness.  When we were getting ready to leave he said "I've had a wonderful life and I'm ready to go.  Three great boys, three great daughters-in-law, nine great grandchildren" (or something like that--I obviously can't remember the exact quote.  The touching part was, he included Mitch in his count.  There are only 7 grandchildren on that side.  He included Mitch and my cousin's wife Lindsey.  I was very happy that Mitch got to meet him.  It was an emotional afternoon for sure.  I hate the thought of him not being there.

They still haven't determined why the young man killed Brittney.  He was a security guard at the building and that's about all that's really known.  He turned himself in once he knew the cops were looking for him and Brittney's car (that he fled the scene in).

Yesterday we got Pippa the pitbull puppy from Ciontos.  She is very active and adorable and loves people.  I've been awake since four this morning just making sure she gets enough time outside to pee and stuff.  Funny enough, I was just outside with her and this guy with his large dog walked up and we started talking.  His name is Weston and we just talked dogs for awhile.  Then I realized he was trying to hit on me by saying that he lives across the street and their place has a dog park or something so if I ever wanted to come over and use it I could call him.  I, honestly, told him I didn't have my phone so he took my number and texted me.  Dogs really are opposite-sex magnets.  After talking dogs with him, I didn't know how to tell him I wasn't available.  Maybe he does just want to hang out with our dogs.  Maybe I would be too presumptuous to just interrupt and blurt out "I'M SORRY BUT MY BOYFRIEND IS ASLEEP IN THAT ROOM RIGHT THERE AND I AM TAKEN SO PLEASE JUST WALK AWAY."   So obviously I just decided on the "never text him or anything" route.  I hate being awkward.  However, let me take this moment to flatter myself and say, I was in my pajamas with no make-up and he wasn't no slouch.  Flattery accomplished.

Work is work is work.  My boss was fired...did I mention that?  The hunt is on for a new one.  I don't care as long as the person is nice and knows what they're doing.

Well, I've tried to stay awake as long as possible and this is about the last little bit I can take.  Goodnight, LJ!
