Yet another sunny Sunday in Atlanta.
Yesterday Mitch and I went and picked up my chair at the Greyhound station downtown. Yes, my chair was shipped to me on a bus. The station was in an insanely skeevy area and I did not like it one bit. By the time we made it back to my car, I had been booted. Oh well. $75 later, we went and got some well deserved nachos at Manuel's.
The chair is so fantastic though. It's so glorious that I can hardly stand it. I can't wait to snap a picture of Elliot sleeping in it like I know she will. It's a marvelous aqua color. It's from the 60s but it has been reupholstered.
At work this week I was approached by the service manager Brandon about a possible promotion to a new position out of the parts department. I told him I was interested in learning more about the responsibilities. He said that when they had asked around about people that would be good for the job, several technicians had mentioned me. That made me blush. It would be a brand new position they're creating. He said it would be something like an administrative position in the shop--taking car of technicians pay and things like that. That could be crazy. I just got a huge raise and now I might get another one? Weird. But, then again, they might find someone else from outside for it. I guess all I can do is wait and see.
I have yet to go to Ulta for a makeover. I'm thinking next Monday. Well, it actually has to be next Monday if I want to be ready for the wedding.
Here is my new To Do List:
1. Get makeover.
2. Begin saving for iPhone. Mitch and I have both decided to get them now that Verizon is carrying them. We are going to create a Family Plan. Work just began a Verizon discount program where I get 17% off my monthly bill. SUPER!
3. Save money for mattress and tax return. Yes, unfortunately I OWE money in April.
4. Go to the Mythic Creatures exhibit at Fernbank. It's the same one I saw when I was in Chicago, but I want Mitch to go with me this time. They have a huge unicorn! Plus it's all about dragons and mermaids and such. Nerd.
5. Begin saving for a safety deposit on our next place. There are tons of really cute bungalow apartments in really cool areas downtown available right now. I guess we need to rent for a bit to decide if that's a place we would actually want to buy a house in.
Basically my list is a bunch of saving money and hardly any spending. With the new raise, I don't think it will be too hard to save enough in time for all those things, but it will be hard to not buy clothes and cool things on Etsy. :(
I've been craving a cheese and granny smith apple sandwich lately. And lots of veggie lo mein. We might need to go grocery shopping tomorrow. We don't keep much in the apartment at all times other than beans and rice. And peanut butter. But I need some Morningstar sausage for sure. Oh we have two ripe avocados now that we need to eat today. This is where I've left journal updating mode and entered stream of consciousness mode.
Time to quit!
