Went home for t'giving for a little bit. I took the AmTrak on Thanksgiving morning. It was all in all a great experience... something I'll definitely do again. The only drawback was the time. It was scheduled to leave at 4am but then it got delayed till 6:30. So I lugged all my shit back to my place, slept for a little bit, and went back to the station. The ride itself was very smooth... and I didn't realize how fast those trains go. We must've been doing 75 or 80, so the trip to Osceola only took about as long as it does to drive, including stops. It's too bad there's not a direct connection between Lincoln and Des Moines.
Thanksgiving itself was cool. We went over to my mom's boss's house and had dinner. It was a great dinner... although there was no corn. But the turkey, ham, and my aunt Mimi's recipe for cheesey potatoes more than made up for it. It was soooooo good. So then after that met up with some friends from high school and went and saw "Walk the Line", the Johnny Cash movie. I would highly recommend it... great movie. Today we just sort of rode around and did stuff, later on went to dinner with another old friend. I like home friends... it's like leaving all your school troubles behind and just not giving a shit for a while.
Well it's late as fuck and I have to see if I can put the jazz audition materials together in four days. Along with legit auditions. And the competition tape. And the music history quiz. And the TEAC presentation. And the quintet recital. FUCK FUCK FUCK too much to do. (-: Better to be busy than to be a lump on the couch.
