Went and voted in town elections today. The most important was the prop 2 1/2 override, but there were a bunch of town office elections which i did not at all anticipate. Since I wasn't going to go home, research and come back, I voted for everyone. I figure, it's a small town, there's nothing much wrong, and for every office, there were either ( Read more... )

Wonder if that's the source of the bad-schools reputation.

Also, the failure of the override is a chance to check if your theory (that this is just baseless panic) was right. We'll see if that school closes, etc.

yes, it'll be very interesting to see what happens. Other sections of the budget will likely suffer, but we'll have to pay attention.

We are having an override vote in Newton in May and are debating the issue now. How did you vote and why? I am really curious, as I am not quite sure what my position on this is yet.

Off-topic to bublik64 - turns out we don't need the carseat, after all - we got it as a gift as well! Thanks for the offer!

We do have one base coming with the seat (I think), so it's not that urgent. We would love to have it, though - let us know when you've passed it along!
