Hasik is in a daddy phase - mommy is not good for much these days, and is likely to get a shove (we're working on that, but he learns these things slowly). This morning was no exception. While daddy was downstairs getting ready for work, I went up to get them two ready to go to KB (1st day in preschool for the boy, too). I went up when I heard him on the monitor, "Papa! Papa!" fading away, which means he was coming for us. Finally the monitor faded out to Alishka's snoring, but the 'papas' came into live range. I quickly threw something on and ran up to meet him, only to be greeted by "Нет! Хочу папууууу", a sour puss, and a shove on the stair landing. By this time I'm experienced, and, Neo-like, I turned sideways so he wouldn't have my death on his conscience. I in turn gently shoved him back off the stairs and closed the door behind us. We went into the usual argument:
J: Хочу папууууу.
Ме: Хасик, стоп, слушай.
J: [quiets the whining for a sec]
Me: Папа моется, одевается, когда будет готов придет.
J: Хочу папууууу.
Me: Ты хочешь чтоб папа вышел из душа мокрый и мыльный и голый сюда пришел?
J: [stares hopefully] Да.
Me: Нет, папа сейчас не может прийти, но как только соберется, придет наверх. Пошли чистить зубы, одеваться, и ты как раз будешь готов к тому времени.
J: Хочу папуууу.
Repeat until tired.
After I tried to unzip his jammies while he seemed to be distracted, he pushed me again. I then decided I had enough and simply told him that I loved him very very much, kissed him, and told him it made me sad when he pushed me. He looked at me like he was about to push me away again, and instead gave me one of the toys he was holding, and then the other. Peace offering.
