Today I came across a portuguese saying that indirectly made me think about that

"Amor com amor se paga" (=Love with love is paid). It can have a very nice meaning... but also a really nasty one
When it comes to love I think Port is worse than France in the seriousness department. He either loves with all his heart... or will destroy everything in order to repay the broken love (he's the type "An Eye for an Eye") =/

So what came to mind when I read that was Port kicking Spain's ass while smiling and saying he was just paying the love back

Oh yes. It seems a little like I picture Spain; in fact I think Spain's behaviour is oblivious until someone's special to him does something he does not approve. He can became scary or even hurting this special someone without even realizing it, just because they desagree. (Port sperimented this tons of times)

Maybe Spain contaminated Porty with this hahah.
And I can totally see Port being a little too serious on love stuff.

Yeah, that's rather true. On the other hand Port has plenty of experience dealing with his brother (reason why he's still weary of him, even though they're in good terms. Although the fact he never really trusts anyone helps)

I think it's just a family trait XD

Maybe that's why he's always singing about the pain of love =p

I just remembered the commentators of the match Portugal vs Ivory Coast saying (as a joke with a Portuguese host) that everyone in Portugal is so very very sad ahahaha!
