MUSE ☆ PRAISE ☆ AND ☆ CRITIQUE: OCTOBER 2013

Oct 07, 2013 18:38

Welcome!

RULES:

☆ Please adhere by the coding associated with each muse(s). If a mun specifies that they only want praise, that does not mean you get to critique them anyway. If we see any kind of abuse, the comments will be deleted. Likewise, if a mun DOES NOT specify what kind of feedback they'd like, their comment will be deleted to avoid confusion.

☆ This is a post meant for constructive character criticism, compliments/praise, positive questions, writing critique, etc. If there's any sort of bashing or trolling, the comments will be deleted immediately. Save your hate for someone who cares.

☆ Anonymous commenting is allowed, if you don't want to use your muse/mun journals in here. All comments are considered OOC, but please do not abuse your anonymity by being rude.

☆ Pointless/off topic threads will be deleted to keep the post clean. See a thread you think needs deleting? Let us know. Sometimes we're not here or we miss things.

☆ Muns, if you see something in your thread that you don't like, please PM the journal (see above) and we'll delete it for you!

WHEN REPLYING:

PRAISE ☆ Try not to explode all over the other person in a fit of unintelligible happiness. Real compliments are good. ♥ Think: (muse) makes me laugh/smile/dokidoki or I like (muse's) way of talking/jokes/sarcasm. If your muse has interacted with another and loved a particular scene, or how the mun wrote it, or can go deeper then surface compliments, please do so! On the flip side, if you've only seen a muse from afar but want to say something like, It seems like (muse) is really great at getting the girls to laugh, that'd be awesome too. Feel free to praise not only the muse, but the mun as well. Comments about good characterization are just as good as ones about great writing or believable development.

CRITIQUE ☆ Remember, the point of critique is both to help someone improve and let them know what they're doing right. Being harsh is not the goal here--the point is to be articulate, and to let the mun know how you feel without making it personal. Perhaps a good way to go about critiquing is to consider both the positives and the negatives of the muse; if you have something you like about the muse, and yet something you don't feel is entirely right, share both in order to give a balanced analysis. Please also remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. While some things about roleplay may seem easy to differentiate into right and wrong, others may be a simple difference of opinion, and everyone has a valid one, whether you agree with it or not.
