Reed's Sparkling Spiced Apple Cider
I normally see Reed's brand of Ginger Beer, but at this one beverage shop in King of Prussia, PA, they had this variety--Sparkling Spiced Apple Cider. Now, I'm sure you've had sparking apple cider before as a non-alcoholic substitute for champagne. But knowing Reed's for having a pretty strong Ginger Beer, I surmised that the "Spiced" in the title carried a bit more weight than normal.
And that it does. It's like a spicier, sparkling version of the warm apple cider you might be familiar with if you do the Christmas tradition with hot apple cider. I can taste a hint of ginger intermixed with the cinnamon and nutmeg. Slightly sweet, but the apple and spice are definitely on center stage here. About the only flaw is the slightly bitter aftertaste. Not a deal breaker, but it's definitely there.
Sweetened With: "Fructose"
Verdict: Worth a bottle or two
