Sprechers Puma Kola
Here we have Sprecher's Puma Kola. Probably the first cola I've come across to use the actual spelling of "kola" (after the kola nut which was one of the original flavors in Coca-Cola.) Glad I was able to find this again, this time in a Giant Eagle supermarket in Pittsburgh, since I saw this when I first ran across Sprecher's Root Beer in a store around my area, but passed it up since I couldn't afford to buy a pack of both. One thing that gets me about this (other than inexplicable reason for adding "Puma" to the name for no apparent reason) is that if it claims to be "Caffeine Free" how do they still have "kola extracts" in the ingredients, since usually in natural cola flavorings, kola is the source of the caffeine?
In any case, the taste is really good . . . and rather different. Not too sweet. A bit of spice and bite to it. And of course, cinnamon. Like, I've stated before, most of these premium colas like to throw cinnamon into the mix. It's really prominent in the aftertaste. Not that it's bad, but if you're not used to cinnamon in your cola, it's something to prepare for. All in all, I like it, and I wouldn't mind getting another case of it if I find it again!
Sweetened With: "high fructose corn syrup" and "honey"
Verdict: Worth a case or two
