bear necessities
this oven mitt, which i have been using since i've lived here, has an image which i only just now noticed: a male and female bear (teddy-style) bearing a bunch of cooking regalia - apron, chef's hat, spatula, dish towel, oven mitt, frying pan - and a caption reading "bear necessities".
all the little decorations like this that we have around - a "live / laugh / love" floor mat, a dish towel with a prayer for peace - are growing on me. it is easy to look at such a thing and think of whatever human made it, and imagine it as a friend to keep me company whenever i happen to be idling.
