as hard as it is to weigh my potential future paths (industry vs ph.d.) against each other, the sheer amount and the diversity and the supportiveness of the advice i've been getting about how to figure out what to do with myself has been doing wonders for my keeping an attitude of "all my options are great and i'll be happy no matter what i choose; and i'm valuable as a computer scientist and people everywhere want to have me on board with them".
