Ladder 49

In English class today we finished watching Ladder 49, thats based off of a real life story about a fire fighter and how we watch him flourish in to the great fire fighter he became to be. The story was so sad that all the girls in the class ended up crying in the end. I think the movie made me think about how all the real life hero's in everyday life desearve more then just 15 minutes of fame. As depressing as life really is and how we as a society always believe that people are self-centered and selfish there are the occasional few who disreguards what everyone else says about them, will still do the right thing. I believe the best quote I had to take from this film would half to be

"It's amazing what you guys do, Despite the dangers of any case you guys all run in when everyone else is running out" (Jacinda)

With all the hero's that little kids know of, like Spiderman, and Superman, and even Batman, I believe that all kids need to know real life hero's like Firefighters, and Police officers. Who despite all dangers would risk their life to save another. In my opinnion Firefighters and Police officers dont get paid nearly enough to any of that. To risk the happiness and well being of their family and friends for a stranger and consider it just in a days work. I guess this journal entry is really a tribute to all the cops and fire fighters out there. I'm sure I speak on everyone's behalf when I say "Thank you so much for doing the job that you're doing." *Tear*
