things i'm excited about
- Tuesday being debate #3
- Obama pulling ahead by statistically significant figures in national polls, and enough ahead in enough swing state polls to lower my anxiety about the election slightly
- Volunteering yesterday for a few hours in Arlington, registering a few people to vote in Virginia, and asking a lot of people in Spanish if they were citizens (most were not, but of those who were, almost all were already registered to vote, which made me happy). I also got to watch little kids play soccer. Even though they were all like, twelve, probably, most of them were faster than me and would probably make me look silly if I had been playing with them. That was a bit of a sobering realization. But they were fun to watch, and reminded me of the days when I worried a lot more about the outcomes of those games than the outcomes of electoral politics.
- having bought tickets to four concerts today! I am now for sure seeing NOFX (10/24), Billy Bragg (10/28), The Mountain Goats (11/7), and The Decemberists (11/8). I'm super excited about the last two, because my old noodle friend Tina is coming out to visit me/see them with me! I am very pleased with this development indeed! Although I am not happy about girl talk being sold out, nor particularly enthused with the prospect of going to the first two by myself.
- Jocelyn coming to see me in December!
- 3 Ben Folds cds arriving yesterday from Liz in Naperville, and my Microsoft Office cd arriving (finally!) from Tim in NYC. supersunnyspeedgraphic has been playing pretty much non-stop since.
- New Computer shipping Monday, arriving Thursday/Friday (hopefully)!
