I found myself getting inspired by some NYU kids when I was walking around Washington Square Park the other day. I was actually strolling past the building I lived in for the first two years of my life which is in that neighborhood when I found myself surrounded by college students. You can't walk around Washington Square without seeing at least 100 NYUers on each block. It's so tempting to make fun of their white people dreads and expensive jeans and serious conversations about blogging, but I actually found myself envying their optimism and excitement about life which was just kind of swirling in the air around them.
When did sincerity become the new irony?
