This will be my final update for the night, excluding a Merry Christmas at midnight one, if I’m motivated enough!
This evening has been a heap of fun. Had a great barbeque dinner, cooked by my Dad, Jayden and Matt. Pretty sure we’ve all put on ten kilos and we’re only on Day 1!
After dinner, we had another swim, then kicked the footy around. That was until Matt kicked it into the pool… and no one wanted to get wet by going in to get it! I’m not sure if the boys got it out yet; if not, that one’s waiting until morning!
I’m not sure who suggested it, but whilst we were looking at our Christmas lights, we decided on an impromptu trip around Perth to see some Christmas lights. Great idea. So many beautiful displays, and thank you to those who took the effort to jump into the Christmas spirit. Beautiful.
For us, with so many people, it was like a Christmas light convoy of cars. There was 7 cars in total to take everyone, two of which cars were 7-8 seater Toyota Prado’s! There is a lot of us after all. I can’t even remember who crammed in with who. There were seven drivers though, that I know for a fact! I drove, Erin drove (with my Mum sitting passenger because Ez is still a Learner driver), Juddy, Jayden, Uncle Mark, Britt’s brother Ben and Matt all drove. What was funnier was that we all got ushered into a police road block for random breath testing and licence checks. I think photos were taken too. All part of the memories.
Jayden is probably the most sober out of everyone at the moment. Not including me as I’m obviously not drinking at the moment! Poor thing, he is on call. That means that he isn’t going to work or on duty unless something happens. He’s only on until 5am tomorrow morning; after that he can do what he likes. But he has to be ready just in case. So, as he previously tweeted earlier tonight, please Perth, stay calm. If all hell breaks loose, he will be out on the roads!
Jayden’s Mum is a little tired; I had to pick her up from the airport earlier today. (Thankfully, Jayden remembered his Mum was flying in this year, unlike last year where I had to do a quick dash to the airport because he and his brother forgot!) She flew to Sydney yesterday afternoon after the funeral, then flew back to Perth about midday today. She’s so busy with work. But I love her so I’m glad she’s here.
I’m currently sitting with my Mum; we’ll start wrapping presents together soon. Us girls will start on present wrapping and stocking filling in a minute. The guys are going to be guys I think; useless! They’re playing cricket as we speak, and only venture onto the balcony to steal the chocolates we’re using for stockings! Naughty…
The kiddies went and put milk and cookies, and water and carrots, out for Santa about half an hour ago, just after we got back from Christmas light hunting. After that, they said their goodnights and went up to the movie room, where they will crash out whenever they grow tired enough! I’m thinking it won’t be long; a couple fell asleep on the drive tonight and the others were a little bleary eyed!
Will be making up the slushie mixes for tomorrow. We’ve got a couple I think; mango daquiries and lime margaritas, that sort of thing. Yummo!
Anyway, I’m off to go and show the boys how it’s done with some cricket, then I’ll get back to wrapping presents once I’ve whipped their butts! LOL.
Stay safe and almost Merry Christmas!!!
Best wishes,
