Now, I really should be getting ready for bed now. But given I don’t know when, and even if, I’ll be updating this over the next few days, I decided to take a break from my packing and write you all a little something.
Packing for tomorrow. With Erin, (and I have since found out Jayden) along for the trip, I am flying to Sydney at 6am. From there, (after we get there around lunchtime in Sydney) we will spend an hour or so there, before a 2 and a half hour drive to Dungog, for it’s famous Film Festival. It is going to be a blast! So we are spending a few days there for that.
As for today, it was an even early start, especially given we finished up at 11.30pm the night before. Anyway, arrived at work at 4am. Then we all left at 4.30am for the trip to Mandurah. Now, Mandurah isn’t too far away from Perth, but it’s still a bit of a drive. Anyway, I picked up Luke on the way and we all drove to Mandurah (separate cars; we wouldn’t all fit otherwise, and they had to bring the things like wardrobe and set equipment, lights and camera’s etc.)
Anyway, so we started filming pretty early. Had fun.
The around abouts lunchtime, Luke and I drove back to Perth so I could get my cast taken off. Woohoo! I’m a free woman now... Well, kind of. I still have to wear a brace to make sure both breaks heal correctly.
As I mentioned (I think) Luke came because I couldn’t drive. Pretty funny how I could drive with a cast, but once it was off, I couldn’t. LOL. Anyway, they advised me I shouldn’t drive for a week. Grrr...
Anyway, afterwards, we drove back to Mandurah. More filming for hours, then back to Perth again! Pheww... A lot of driving clocked up today.
Now, the no driving thing was going to cause a problem. We hadn’t thought of it earlier... Stupid on my part. Tomorrow when we were to arrive in Sydney, we are hiring a car to drive to Dungog. And I am driving... Erin can’t drive yet. Jayden and his partner were going to see how they thought I drove tonight, to assess whether they thought it was safe for me to drive, given it’s only a recommendation I don’t drive. They are our law enforcement officers, after all! LOL.
Anyway, it never got to that point. Jayden got a few days off, and he managed to get a flight to Sydney. Although, sadly, our flight was already booked out, therefore he arrives in Sydney with Luke and Jay, about 2-3 hours after we do. So Erin and I spend a few hours in Sydney whilst waiting for them. But Jayden can drive us. Jay and Luke have to stay in Sydney until late Wednesday night before they could head to Dungog, otherwise one of them could have driven.
So excited about this film festival. I have been told how wonderful it is in such a small, old and beautiful town. I am honoured to have been invited.
Anyway, given it is just after midnight, and I have to be at the airport in 4 hours, I’ll leave it there. I better finish up packing too!
Best wishes guys.
