Dance of Passion Epilogue

Nov 25, 2011 10:41

Jared let himself relax as he finally wiped the last of the stage makeup from his face. The night had been exhausting, but exhilarating, and only solidified his desire to change his major from dance to engineering. While he loved the stage, and the feeling both on and off it. Preparing for that final dance, that final performance wasn’t him anymore. He didn’t get the rush off that perfect performance like he did as a kid. Now, he realised, he preferred the dancing, the practicing, the learning something new and different, even if he hadn’t perfected the last set of steps from the week before.

Dance had finally become fun again, instead of a chore. He enjoyed it again. He always had, or almost always, and he always would, but he didn’t need it consuming his every second of every day. College was about enjoying life, and trying new things and he’d definitely done that over the last semester. He’d discovered a new love of exercise that wasn’t ballet specific. The rush of a 3 mile run before breakfast, which he was finally allowing himself to enjoy again, along with chocolate, and candy; the feel of muscles the day after a weights session at the gym. A pickup game of football, or basketball, or baseball with friends. Even something as simple as dinner and a movie, or movie nights, or watching Kane perform at the college bar and having a few drinks. Yes, life was definitely better.

Jared let a soft smile make its way over his lips as the reason for his new outlook on life quietly slipped through the door to his dressing room, and made his way over to sit on Jared’s lap, wrapping his arms around Jared’s neck and kissing him soundly. Jared reciprocated, wrapping his arms around Jensen’s waist, and deepening the kiss.

“Hi,” Jared said with a smile when they finally pulled apart.

“You were amazing.” Jensen said, before leaning in and kissing his boyfriend again quickly. “Are you done here?” he said looking around at the mess of Jared’s dressing room. “Chris and Steve... and the others, all think we should go out and celebrate the end of finals. Have a few drinks; eat too much pub food, maybe some really bad karaoke. But you can’t sing, so don’t even ask.” Jared didn’t, he knew he couldn’t sing, so he just grinned at him. “And, maybe, if you’re good, a little private reward for doing so well your first semester at college.” Jensen finished with a wicked grin and a swivel of his hops that left Jared with no doubt about what he meant.

“I think that sounds like a plan I could 100% get behind. Pun intended.” Jared grinned at Jensen again before claiming his mouth in a bruising kiss Jensen reciprocated thoroughly. “I just have to clean up here and we can go.” Jared said, a little out of breath as he pulled away from Jensen.

Jensen quickly stood up, allowing Jared to stand, and pointed to the floor. “Clean up the mess Padalecki, and do it in a hurry. Drinks start in 45 minutes, and I have something planned for us before we get there, and we’re going to need showers. So get going.” And with that he slapped Jared on the ass before plunking himself into the chair; drawing his feet up onto the chair, hugging his knees to his chest, and watching his boyfriend hurry to clean up his mess.

Jared smiled to himself again, as he hurriedly grabbed his clothes and everything else he had accumulated over the past semester and shoved it all into the few athletics bags he had stored over the room. It was definitely a good semester, and he could only hope that the rest of his time at college was just as good, if not better.
