The Adventures of .........The Tuesday Tokers and *The Quilt of honor*

okay i have to go way back to the sixties to explain this on....

once upon a time my Grammy was a teen/young adult woman during the sixties and she met a guy i now know as pop-pop, they became major hippies together and led a lovely hippy life.

My mothers first concert was Pink Floyd when she was 3 months old

They named her Allison because they thought it was cool that her name was really 3 words smooshed together....All is on.....definitly on something.....anywho, at least they didnt go with their second or third choice because then id have had to grow up with a mom named Daisy or Peace

My grandmother was in a quilting group where a bunch of hippies all women got together to quilt and smoke pot. This they called The Tuesday Tokers. they even had t-shirts.

Well all of the origional Tuesday Tokers surprised me last night...

i didnt even know what was going on when .....i walked into the dark kitchen to get water and everyone yelled "happy birthday!" i thought it was for someone else until i saw that everything said sweet 16 on it and my name.

i was so confused "You guys do know i already turned 16 in july and gonna be 17 in 3 months right?"

yes they did. i opened my ginormous present to find a quilt that they had beeen working on for 2 years for me that they wanted to give to me for my 16th birthday but didnt get it done in time. so here i found myself celebrating my birthday with the tuesday tokers 9 months after i had it with a new quilt. i was supposed to get a baby quilt when i was a baby like everyone else but now every girl in the family is jealous of my huge non baby-sized Tuesday Toker quilt. i absolutely love it.

i have to say this has been one the most exciting weekend in my entire life hoooray!!!!!!!
