I think we can all agree that this year was a little topsy turvy. For me at least. There was lots of good, and a little bit of bad and confusing. All around though, even if I learned valuable lessons, I am so glad 2009 is almost over.
I love that New Years Eve feels like a magical portal that you ride all day that makes you nostalgic and thoughtful as to where you'll go next. Then when the clock strikes 12, you all whirl on back to January, and everything starts over. I think it's the closest thing to time travel we have, even though we are moving forward in time...
I did a lot of cool stuff this year. I moved out of my parents house and started paying rent! That was a huge accomplishment for me. I was part of a loving, on-fire small group that helped me in so many ways with my faith. If it wasn't for that, I'd say this year was completely pointless. And I loved someone more than I ever thought possible. I learned a lot from everything, and I can't WAIT to see if 2010 will be the next great decade of my life. It seems like life is so long....when you were younger everything was lovely and fast and fun. Now that I'm older, everything is slow and riddled with hurt and disappointment. But I have to keep growing, keep learning or else I am no use to this world, and more importantly, no use to Jesus.
Who knows? Maybe Jesus will come back this year. Then all my questions about the future will be answered. Haha.
