The Fred took me to a place outside the tallpeople nest today; the queen of the nest wanted him to meet her there before she would let him test himself against her. (There always seems to be some reason we can't just go into a tallpeople nest and fight the alpha, I've noticed!)
It's a really tall place with rocks stacked up and up and up inside, with a path that leads up to the very top. The rocks have been shaped just so; I don't know what they mean, but they mean something to the tallpeople.
The Fred got kind of quiet inside; even when a tallpeople wanted to fight, he didn't seem to be as excited about it as he usually is. He was more careful with me than he usually is too, not waiting until I was really hurt before giving me something to drink or sending Fire Pig to fight instead.
We got to the top of the tower, and there was a big metal thing there. The queen said the Fred should hit it, so he did. (He didn't have one of us hit it! I was surprised.) It made a sound, and she said it was a nice sound, and that she'd fight him when he went back to her chambers. We went back to the make-better place instead, though. I guess he didn't feel like fighting any more today.
I found out why the tall place made the Fred sad: when people who've been claimed by tallpeople die, their bodies get taken here and buried. That's so sad! That means nobody gets to eat them. I hope that doesn't happen to me!
