I won't get Welcome Home on May 2nd. It'll be shipped back home, and after that my parents need to send it up to my school so I can have it in my grubby little hands. So, um - naturally I have to listen to all the preview clips. I mean, it's only fair, right? Um. Yes.
I figure 90 seconds is a lot of time, song-wise. It should determine whether I'll like the song or not. Then again, maybe 2 minutes and 30 seconds will change my mind. This is Brian Littrell we're talking about here, so anything's possible.
I think My Answer Is You is sweet, but the melody in the verses doesn't appeal to me very much. It's nice, but not one of my favorites.
Wish is awesome. I think the way he ... I mean, he doesn't really sing in the verses, does he? I think I'll have to get used to that. But I really like the chorus, and the lyrics in general are lovely. I wonder if he wrote this one.
And, duh. Welcome Home. I love that song so much it hurts me a little bit. He sings about Baylee! And his very supportive father! I mean, come on now. There is just no bad here. It makes me happy every time I listen to it.
I'm not crazy about Keep Givin' Me. The gospel choir in the background is a bit much. I think I would've liked it better if that had been dropped. It's the same issues I have with "The Perfect Fan" all over again, man.
Gone Without Goodbye is the saddest, most heart-wrenching song in the history of ever. Just guitar and Brian. And holy donkey on a pogo stick, Brian's voice is amazing here. I will never be able to explain the way I feel when he sings that song. My God. Just. So much love.
I didn't really like I'm Alive at first, but holy crap, it is so cool. The way he sings it's been a sweet ride gets me every time. Brian's rocking out, yo. And he's GOOD at it.
I'm really kind of in love with Over My Head. It's so soft and ... it feels honest. I guess there's just some things I'll never understand - I love that. And I've been holding on, but now I'm letting go. It speaks to me so much, I can't even tell you.
I'm not really digging We Lift You Up. It's a bit preachy, no? And again, that choir in the background of the chorus - just, no. I realize it's a part of Christian music, but it's not me at all. Anyways, yeah, this one's not really my thing.
If Grace of My Life isn't the sweetest song ever - and he wrote it for Leighanne! I actually get a little bit jealous. *LOL* but, yeah. How SWEET is this? Such a darling song. I love him, and I love him for loving his wife so much.
Angels And Heroes is so, so good. Again, there's that speaking instead of singing in the verses, but the chorus, dude. I love it a really lot. The lyrics are great.
OH MY GOD. Baylee's intro to Jesus Loves You! How cute is that kid?! BAYLEE! Ahem. Yes. Well, apparently this is a children's song? I'm not really sure about this one. It's acapella, man. But again, very preachy. Really, I think if I'll listen to this one it'll be to hear Baylee say "daddy" and count him down. so cute omg!
Holy crap, I'm gonna love this album so much.
