The guy hiring had heard all about me from one of the teachers at the school where I work and was super pumped to hire me. So I got the job pretty much instantly on sitting down and correctly answering two or three technical questions. And now I have no friggin clue what I want to do ( Read more... )

Cons: belfast blows - but you don't necessarily have to move there. I drive everyday (sometimes 6 days a week) down there. It's about an hour. Three days out of the week I work 8 to 5 and would be more than happy to carpool with you if you didn't want to "live" there.
Pros: While belfast is isolated, there are still a lot of fun things to do on the coast. Summers are a blast being so close to the ocean and there's a lot of hiking and festivals in the midcoast area. More money is nice and cost of living is down there so you can save even more money.

I can't really tell you anything about industrial work.. I don't know what your job currently entails. One thing I will tell you is that I've never regretted doing something that I was nervous-uncomfortable with because I wasn't sure if I could do it. I think it's important for us to push those boundaries so that we can learn new things and see what we may or may not like. I know the feeling of ink replacer.. especially when you have worked so hard to get a degree being the "coffee girl" sucks. I also know how much it sucks when you are finally established and people no longer look at you like your are the new hire/new kid but look at you with wow this guy may know what he's talking about to going to a new job where you are the new shit again. I guess if you are questioning it.. and it's not an easy decision.. then maybe it's not the right job.. or maybe you need to just push yourself into it. I'm not sure. What i can tell you is the belfast complaint? That's a little excuse. Being afraid of your safety? That's something you should consider. But little things like that, if they are holding or outweighing your decision, are more because you are looking for an excuse to not take the job or to find a reason that somethings wrong with the job.. now whether that is because the job is not right for you or you are not ready for change.. i can't tell you that. gotta figure that one out for yourself.. but i'm always here or on aim or on the phone to talk to .

in the end employee contribution to health insurance was 4500 higher than what I have now, making the pay increase pretty negligible for the vast increase of hours.
