Candy?

So my mom was writing with this Easter pen from a few years ago, and I took it cause it had a stamp on top, beads and glitter in the middle, and it lights up when you write...so anyways, I took it apart and was looking at the bead things inside cause they smelt good, then I ate a few and the colors came off....but they didn't taste like anything....but I kept eating them...but I still don't really know if they were candy....
