The tragedy facing our world in light of the pro-life/pro-choice movements is simply staggering.
I recently stumbled across a group on Facebook called "1,000,000 strong for pro-choice" (Funny enough, there's 700-some odd members...) and was looking around to see what I could find. Under discussions, they had a section for people's stories, or if they were looking for advice, or what-have-you. Here is what I found: "...but I knew that there were too many children waiting to have good homes and good families, and I could never have coped with the knowledge that I'd not only abandoned a child I'd created, but that that child may have taken the place of another child in someone's family." So, being the pro-lifer that I am, I decided to make the distinction that this poor mother (because she is still a mother afterall, just simply the mother of a dead child) could not cope with her child essentially being adopted into another family, but was okay with killing it. I said just that, and added that unfortunately abortion does not un-mother a person, but as I said before, makes them the mother of a dead child.
Needless to say, I got a ridiculous amount of response to this posting. However, the people coming back at me about it are simply so uneducated on the matter that they cannot make an argument back but instead just feel the need to insult me and everything I've said. It's depressing that a person cannot have a truthful debate with someone anymore. My comments were picked apart, and only pieces chosen to argue with, when instead, my arguments all worked together to flow and make sense. Obviously, if you pull one line out of context from someone's argument, there will be problems with it.
Anyways, that's my cause for depression for the day...
