Poll

Just fyi: I've been wanting to pick up a martial art for a long, long time but never dared to. -sigh stupid-
So, now. I'm strong, relatively fast and well-coordinated, suck at dancing but I think I would be able to learn katas nontheless. And I weigh like 15kg more than I'd like to D:

recs wanted

This. Watch.

Other - Kendo or Judo. But idk, do they actually teach those where you are? D:

I wish I could learn kendo... that'd be so awesome.

I'm not interested in either. I might be interested in Aikido but Judo is too 'soft' and I don't want to learn a martial art that solely relies on weapons.

Well, I could have added Ninjutsu ... that would be awesome. Or Escrima.

Well, I don't know about Sumo xD; but for the three Asian ones there are dojos and as there are a lot of Brasilians here I'm sure I could find somebody to teach me Capoeira as well.

Ahhh. I just think hitting people with weapons would be fun. 8D;;

Nin...jutsu? The art of ninja-ing? :shot:

Isn't sumo a Japanese sport, though? XD But I can understand it not really being taught. I guess of the other three, I'd say Karate, because I'm biased. My friend takes Taekwondo though, and she seems to have fun with it. :]

Well, I think hitting people without weapons would be fun 8D;;

Yup. :D

I have no idea. I meant that sentence as "the three ones I actually put in as real options and not because I know people would want to answer that why I also put checkboxes in order not to get 15 suma and three to five of all others"

My heart actually is with Kung Fu ... ._.;;
But the others are fascinating as well and Capoeira is just amazing amazing amazing.

XD You have your preferences~

... did you just make that up?

........ ohhhhh. Right, right, okay. 8D;;

XD Then take kung fu! Lol. Honestly, though, what's the difference between the three? D:

Well, actually I know hitting people without weapons is a LOT of fun, keke, especially when they (a) are stonger than me and (b) don't hit girls and (c) don't make an exeption for me because I hit them just hard enough to hurrrrt but not hard enough to piss they off big time

No.

Kind of, the language in which you shout, I think.
Also, kung fu is said to be more versatile plus has more of a spiritual component than the other two, karate does more with arm strength and using the opponent's attacks whereas taekwondo uses more kicks. Oh, and taekwondo is the only olympic one which makes me go: meh?

XD Well, that's good, I think? I hit people a lot too, but not too bad. I used to do it a lot in middle school, but I've honed my abusive love down. 8D;;

:o That's cool. And this just happened:

Me: Hey Nga, did you know that there's such thing as Ninjutsu?
Her: Yeah.
Me: ... I hate you.

8D;;

Kind of, the language in which you shout, I think.

... well that's kind of obvious. XD :shot:

Karate and Kungfu should be olympic sports, too. D: But I understand it now. ^^

Same here xD;;
I don't have male friends, I have male sparring partners.

xD;;; Nga watches Naruto?

Kind of, that was exactly what I meant to express: The differences don't seem to be big.

Are they? Idk. Judo is.

Ahhh, that must be fun. Guys don't let me hit them too much. Apparently it actually really hurts. :'D

She used to, yeah. And when I asked about Ninjutsu, she was all, "Didn't you watch Naruto?" XD;;

I always thought the only difference was their country of origin.

Idk. Maybe only one from each country? :D?

Well, I stop when they show that it really had hurt :D
No point in making them abandon their principles.

Haha, well, I don't watch Naruto so it just was aguess that you could learn it from there xD;;;

There are some varieties. Like with Swedish, Norwegian and Danish. You clearly can see the similarities, but the differences as well.

xD

Hahah, that's good. I never realized that my punches and slaps could hurt. I mean, coming from a girl like me? :shot:

Ohhh. I see. Idk. Naruto. XD :dead:

Which one is the one that's winning?

I don't understand this. ._.

LISTEN TO PERFUME!(?) You listen to Vietnamese music? o_O

Reply

bu_yao_ren September 27 2009, 13:37:17 UTC
Yes. I listen to Vietnamese nu metal and since yesterday to hard rock and maybe pop, to be precise.

Perfume are all girls pop and I kind of ... don't really know what to do with all girls pop.

... Really? I would like to hear some... >>

D: Blasphemy! You listen to them, and you love them. If not pop, then... Kalafina? They're more of anime music. 8D;;
